Playgroup
Oropi Playgroup is held in it’s own rooms at the back of the Oropi Memorial Hall, a few hundred meters down the road from Oropi School.
The playgroup welcomes parents and caregivers for under fives and has its own paid supervisor, Brenda Kitchingman. During wet weather, sessions are held in the hall, otherwise the fully fenced grassed area behind the Hall is the wonderful playground for children. There is a large sandpit, swings and adventure playground.
Room 1 from Oropi School visits the playgroup once a term, where the new entrants feel like big fish once more. It is a wonderful way for local parents and children to get to know each other before school starts and many long term friendships have been forged here.
Currently Playgroup has 2 morning sessions on Tuesday and Thursday 9.00 – 12.00pm.
