About Us
Oropi is an amazing decile 9 School situated approximately 13 kilometres up Oropi Road from State Highway 29. The current roll is 130-150 children of ages 5 to 13 ( Years 1- 8 ) who enjoy small class sizes. We have 7 full time teachers, 2 part time teachers, 5 part time support staff. We enjoy small class sizes averaging around 22 children (check out our movie below!)
The location of our school affords both staff and students a tranquil rural environment in which to work and learn, and also provides our students with extensive outdoor areas in which to engage in co-operative play and participate in a variety of sporting codes.
Our students experience the benefits of a rural lifestyle, combined with the opportunities presented within the urban areas of Tauranga and Mount Maunganui.
Our students display a positive attitude towards school and learning, participate enthusiastically in all components of our school programme, and are encouraged to strive for their personal best in all their endeavours.
Our staff display a high level of professionalism in their delivery of quality learning experiences, and are able to address individual learning needs as a result of an excellent teacher/student ratio at all levels within the school. Staff are kept up to date with strong professional development opportunities and provide regular reporting of student achievement to families. ICT is one key component of our programme and is integrated across the curriculum.
Our school is governed by a focussed and forward thinking Board of Trustees, and proactive PTA which supports quality teaching and learning through the provision of quality resources, teaching aids, and equipment.
